What's the best time to visit Vietnam?

It's always the same question we receive from our guests when they plan a trip: What's the best time to visit Vietnam? Here please find our insight.

Vietnam is completely located in the tropical belt of the Northern Hemisphere, favoring a tropical climate. That position has created a high temperature for Vietnam. The annual average temperature is from 22ºC to 27ºC. Every year, there are about 100 rainy days with an average rainfall of 1,500 to 2,000mm. The air humidity is about 80%. The number of sunny hours is about 1,500 - 2,000 hours, the average annual radiant heat is 100kcal / cm².

Vietnam is strongly influenced by the northeast monsoon so the average temperature is lower than the average temperature of many other countries in the same latitude in Asia. Compared to these countries, Vietnam has cooler winter temperatures and less hot summers. In general, Vietnam has a hot, rainy season and a relatively cool and dry season. Based on that common temperature, the climate of the northern provinces (from Hai Van Pass to the North) varies with the four seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter.

Due to the monsoon influences and the complex topography, the climate of Vietnam is always changing throughout the year, from year to year and from place to place (from North to South and from low to high). The below charts will give you an idea of what is the best time to visit popular destinations.
