Handspan-ize up your travel experience

2

The travel experience can be defined as the cognitive outcome of your travel. It is something intimate, related to personal feelings and emotions. It is generated by a sum of actions, situations and interactions that would occur during your journey.

There are two ways to consider the travel experience. People can either see it as a result of their travel choices. These have been made based upon criteria such as time, budget and their level of research about the destination. Or people can see it as a target to reach and so base their travel choices upon the idea of reaching this target [while often keeping it in a time and budget limit of course].

At Handspan, we consider the travel experience rather as a target. The whole concept of the impersonal and common “must-do” and “must-see” is outranked by your personal approach of travel. What are your expectations in terms of travel experience? What activities do you like to do? What kind of experiences are you looking for? Our entire travel consultancy job relies on the answers to these questions. Therefore we are able to plan a tour and, thanks to smooth tour operations, make sure that we hit the target and that you get the travel experience you came for.

To have an unforgettable and extremely positive travel experience, the best advice we can give you is: do not search for popular things to do or to see at the destination you’re going to visit. Rather ask yourself what do you like, and why this destination attracted you in the first place. This way you will be doing things you like in environments you feel well in. Otherwise you may end up asking yourself what you’re doing in Sapa in January while you’re not keen on trekking and hardly stand cold weather.
