Day 1 Vientiane arrival

Upon your arrival in Vientiane, you will be warmly greeted by our tour representative who will assist you with the transfer to your hotel. Take some time to relax and settle in before embarking on your exciting journey through Laos.

Day 2 Vientiane city tour

The tour begins at the serene Wat Sisaket, one of the most beautiful temples in the capital, before continuing on to the nearby Wat Phra Keo. Acting as a religious museum, the site displays a unique collection of both Lao and Khmer works of art. Also nearby is the Presidential Palace. Though it can only be viewed from the outside, the stunning building offers some excellent insight into the colonial history of Vientiane.

Next, make a stop at Wat Si Muang. The most popular and venerated temple in Vientiane, it is considered to be the guardian of the spirit of the city. Following the temple visit, head to COPE, an association working to help landmine victims. A visit to the center provides in-depth information about the history of the American/Vietnam War, the lasting impact of unexploded ordinances (UXO) in the area, and the efforts underway to clear them.

In the afternoon, continue to the Patuxay monument. Laos’ version of the Arc de Triomphe, it is possible to climb the stairs of the monument where breathtaking views over the city await. The tour wraps up at That Luang, the holiest site in Laos. Constructed by King Setthethirat in the 16th century, the temple is one of the city’s most iconic with its towering golden spire.

Day 3 Vientiane - Buddha Park - Vang Vieng

Today, we'll journey from Vientiane to Vang Vieng, with a stop at the fascinating Buddha Park along the way. Explore the park's unique collection of over 200 statues, including the famous giant reclining Buddha and various Hindu gods. 

Afterward, we'll continue our drive to Vang Vieng, a picturesque town nestled amidst stunning limestone karst mountains. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure, soaking in the natural beauty and tranquility of the surroundings.

Day 4 Vang Vieng explorer

Today is all about exploring the natural wonders of Vang Vieng. Embark on an adventurous kayaking or tubing or cycling excursion along the Nam Song River, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Explore the famous Tham Jang Cave, known for its impressive stalactites and stalagmites, and enjoy panoramic views of Vang Vieng from its entrance. In the evening, witness a stunning sunset over the mountains, casting a golden hue over the town.

Day 5 Vang Vieng - Luang Prabang by train

Experience the scenic beauty of Laos as we travel from Vang Vieng to Luang Prabang by train in the morning. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the picturesque landscapes unfolding before your eyes during this memorable train journey. 

In the afternoon, we’ll set off on an exploration of the city's iconic landmarks. First, we'll visit Wat Mai Suwannaphumaham, also known as the "New Monastery." Marvel at the temple's ornate exterior adorned with gilded stenciling and intricate wood carvings, and step inside to experience the tranquility of this sacred site.

Next, we'll delve into the rich history and heritage of Laos at the National Museum, housed within the grand Royal Palace. Discover the regal halls, royal artifacts, and religious treasures that offer a fascinating glimpse into the country's past. 

Our tour continues with a visit to the Traditional Art & Ethnology Center, a museum dedicated to showcasing the diverse cultures and traditional crafts of Laos' ethnic groups. Explore the exhibits and gain a deeper understanding of the region's cultural heritage. 

Lastly, we'll immerse ourselves in the breathtaking beauty of Wat Xieng Thong, one of Luang Prabang's most revered temples. Be awed by its intricate golden mosaics, ornamental gables, and sweeping roofs, all set amidst serene gardens and the backdrop of the Mekong River.

Day 6 Kuang Si waterfall. Pak Ou caves

For early risers, there is a very special dawn visit to watch the monks collecting alms. As the sun begins to rise, long lines of orange-robed monks leave their pagodas and walk barefoot down the streets collecting offerings from Luang Prabang residents.

After breakfast, we venture outside of Luang Prabang to visit the breathtaking Kuang Si Waterfall. Enjoy a leisurely walk through the well-maintained trails and take a refreshing dip in the inviting natural pools or simply unwind amidst nature's beauty. There’s also an opportunity to visit the nearby Bear Sanctuary, where you can observe and learn about the conservation efforts dedicated to protecting and rehabilitating endangered Asiatic black bears. Witness these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat, and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges they face and the importance of preserving their species.

In the afternoon, embark on a scenic boat cruise along the Mekong River to the renowned Pak Ou Caves. Discover these ancient limestone caves that house thousands of Buddhist statues, offering a glimpse into the spiritual beliefs and traditions of Laos.
