Responsible Tourism & Local Support

Besides the accommodations that focus on sustainable development and local support, Handspan prioritises locally owned businesses. Environmental Responsibility

Around 80% of internal documentation (tour checklists, operational reports, internal communication) has been shifted to digital formats, significantly reducing paper usage. Waste separation guidelines are applied at the office, with recycling practices covering glass, paper, and hazardous waste. Single-use plastic consumption during tours has been significantly reduced, with refillable water solutions promoted in most itineraries.

Staff Engagement & Internal Practices

100% of employees participated in the internal sustainability feedback survey, demonstrating strong engagement. Employee feedback is collected continuously and reviewed at least once per year, with key results shared with the entire team.

Communication & Customer Awareness

Sustainability guidelines and responsible travel practices are communicated to guests before and during tours. Sustainability values are consistently promoted through partner communication and customer-facing materials.

By focusing on concrete actions, measurable progress, and continuous improvement, Handspan actively contributes to responsible tourism development while maintaining high-quality travel experiences.
