Jour 1 Kep – Phnom Penh

After breakfast, we take a ride on our bicycles (optional) to Kep’s famous crab market before heading along the 25km road towards Kampot. Along the route we can stop at Phnom Sorsia, a holy mountain peppered with shrines and grottoes, pause at the Cham fishing village and then journey to Phnom Chhnork, a large sacred cave that contains a 7th century brick temple in remarkable condition. We can also find some time to discover the rural side of life in the countryside before we arrive to the riverside town of Kampot, with its fading colonial buildings and laid-back charm. After lunch, we drive onward to Phnom Penh where you’ll check into your hotel.

Jour 2 Prek Chak – Takeo – Kep

Pick up from Prek Chak/Xa Xia crossing, some 15kms from Kompong Trach, we call into visit the cave temple at Wat Kirisan (optional) before continuing onto Kep for lunch before taking a boat to the best beaches in the area on Koh Tonsay, also known as Rabbit Island. You can relax on the sandy beach, enjoy some seafood snacks or take a walk around the island to discover more beaches and a small fisherman’s hamlet where we can visit one of the local families and our guide will act as a translator for a conversation. Late afternoon, we’ll return to Kep mainland and on to your hotel for overnight.
