Our Story: In 1997, three university grads from Ha Noi with a passion for travel and adventure set out to realize a dream, to establish an adventure travel company offering unique and exciting tours while maintaining the natural and human resources of their incredible country. Wolfgang Winter and Karin Aitzetmueller - Germany Dear Handspan I took part in the 3 day tour MBHeaven's Gate on 28th December with Ngoc Huong and would like to provide some feedback on the trip. Our family of 5 were on the trip and had a great experience, Huong was a fabulous guide and our driver was very helpful. Although it would have been useful if the driver could speak English, Huong should have stayed closer to our group throughout the trip, and we went to one more local house than we felt was necessary, the trip was fabulous. The route was beautiful, Huong was full of interesting information and stories, he was constantly trying to help in whatever way possible, he was very patient with us, and was amazing at getting our meals sorted as well. He put so much effort into making sure that we were happy, healthy and enjoying ourselves. I wanted to email to advise you how great he was and to make sure that his hard work is recognised, he made our trip an amazing experience. We used Handspan for this tour. They are a very well-organised company and we would recommend them. We had a bit of a disaster with my son dislocating his shoulder jumping off the junk. Required an overnight stay in Halong City Hospital -very scary! The Handspan crew were wonderful - couldn't do enough for us. One girl even spent the night (sleeping in a chair!)in the hospital with my husband and son so she could translate, etc. Other than that, the cruise was very good. Food was great and kayaking is highly recommended. The resort at Cat Ba was very nice although the weather let us down. The food there was magnificent. We also did a Handspan tour to Tam Coc and Hoa Lu day trip. The cycling along back roads was one of my Vietnam highlights. The sampan ride was good (although very very hot) and the women were very pushy trying to sell their goods - we were prepared but we still ended up buying stuff.
